After several lawsuits filed in the US against PlayStation hackers, A German hacker named "graf_chokolo" was arrested in his home for modifying the PS3 and running a Linux backup off the system. I wonder why these people post the details of what they are doing if it's considered a violation against the law. If it's for the attention, is it worth the risk of getting your home raided by the Berlin Police? If it's for the money, I'm sure there are better ways to be more discrete about it.
I used to downloaded illegal copies of games a few years back but I learned that downloading hundreds of these games wont lead me to finishing all of them. The fact is, the more that I have, the more I cant focus on finishing a single game. I remember when I was a kid and I couldn't afford to buy all the Nintendo cartilages when the "101-in-1 games" didn't exist yet. I had to play Ghouls and Goblins 24/7 even if finishing it was close to impossible.
I currently own a PSP Go and a PS3 (which is in the hands of the "commander" and currently labeled as "conjugal property") and I purchase original games off PSN. I think buying legit copies less the stress of figuring out how to jailbreak the next firmware version and the guarantee that playing online without getting busted is just worth it. Kudos to PSN for having downloadable games both playable in the PS3 and PSP. PS One additions are also awesome. I'm aware that .ISO versions are also available but I'm not convinced to mod my unit if my boss battle will end with my console hanging.
Bottom line, Buy original copies and give the people behind these games a little credit.
Note to PSN: Please add the trophy system to the PSP.
